Rick Monzon, Executive Director

Rick has been involved with the Miracle League of Westchester since 2006, when his son William joined the League at age five. What began as volunteering as a coach grew into a long-term leadership role. Rick joined the executive board early on and has served as Executive Director since 2015, helping guide the organization’s growth and impact.

The Miracle League is a true family commitment for the Monzons, who actively volunteer and support programs throughout the season. Professionally, Rick is the Managing Partner of Sparx Technologies, an IT Managed Services firm based in New York City serving clients across the tri-state area.

Tom McCandless

Treasurer Tom has been an active member of The Miracle League of Westchester since its inception and has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. In 2014, his dedication to Scouting led him to establish the Special Needs Scouting Committee, a key advisory resource supporting more than 4,000 adult Scout leaders across eight counties in the Hudson Valley.

Professionally, Tom has been a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial since 2009, helping families and small business owners plan for retirement. Prior to that, he spent 25 years on Wall Street as an equity analyst in institutional investing.

Chris Schulze, President

Chris has been part of The Miracle League of Westchester community since 2010, when his daughter Samantha became a player. What began as supporting their daughter quickly grew into a deep family commitment to the League’s mission of inclusion and community.

The Schulze family became active volunteers and regular participants at League events, embracing the welcoming spirit that first drew them in. Chris later joined the Board of Directors, where he continues to support the organization’s growth and impact. You can often find Chris and his family at the field, helping create the same inclusive experience that meant so much to them.

Barbara Boies, Vice President

Barbara became involved with the Miracle League of Westchester in 2012 when her three children began volunteering as buddies for weekend baseball games. Inspired by the camaraderie her children developed with the players—continuing their involvement for nearly a decade—Barbara became deeply connected to the League’s mission.

As a longtime supporter and now board member, she is continually inspired by the organization’s commitment to creating an inclusive baseball experience and other year-round events that foster confidence, friendship, and community for individuals with special needs. Barbara previously worked as a historical archivist and rare book specialist and is proud to contribute her time and talents to such a meaningful organization.

Penny Romano, Secretary

Penny has dedicated more than 14 years of service to the Miracle League of Westchester, helping to empower individuals through baseball and community inclusion. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lafayette College and a Master’s degree in Social Work, which led to her career as a medical social worker at Mount Sinai and Lenox Hill Hospitals in New York City.

Raised in Riverdale, New York, Penny now resides in Rye Brook. She is the proud mother of twin daughters, age 28, and a 32-year-old son, and remains deeply committed to making a positive impact through her work with the Miracle League community.

Evan Latainer

Evan is a founding member of the Miracle League of Westchester and served as Director of the Westchester County Office for People with Disabilities for 22 years. With over 40 years of dedication to supporting the disabled community, Evan has long championed inclusion, advocacy, and opportunity for individuals of all abilities. A strong believer in the value of volunteering, he continues to support the Miracle League’s mission of fostering community, joy, and empowerment for its athletes and families.

Anna Masopust Anna began her 55-year career serving individuals with disabilities as a volunteer at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. Inspired by the profound impact of community service, she has remained dedicated to volunteering throughout her life.

Anna is proud to be a Founding Board Member of The Miracle League of Westchester. She also coordinates the League’s Adult Program, which serves more than 500 participants who play in 15 weekly games each season at the Miracle Field, helping ensure an inclusive and meaningful experience for all athletes.

Edward Dingee

Ed is a dedicated advocate for individuals with special needs and a proud father of a son who participates in the Miracle League of Westchester. He enjoys working alongside fellow volunteers to help bring the joy of baseball to an incredible community of athletes and families.

A Vietnam veteran, Ed served two tours before marrying his wife, Pamela, 48 years ago. He is the father of three and grandfather of three. Ed retired after more than 30 years with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. He has served on the Board of the Westchester School for Special Children for 13 years and is actively involved in supporting veterans, including fundraising efforts for the Big Apple Honor Flight.

Peter De Lorenzo

Peter has been a coach and Board Member of the Miracle League of Westchester for over 10 years, sharing his passion for baseball while helping players grow both on and off the field. He finds inspiration in the dedication, energy, and enthusiasm of every athlete he coaches. Peter’s family is also actively involved with the League—his wife and 2 children have contributed as buddies and coaches, helping foster a strong sense of community. He is proud to be part of an organization that combines a love of baseball with inclusion and connection.

Joseph Mileti

Joe has served on the Board of Directors of the Miracle League of Westchester since 2015 and has been proud to support the organization’s growth over the past decade. He was first introduced to the League when his son Joey began playing baseball at the Hartsdale field more than twelve years ago. Today, Joe is also a regular on-field coach, and watching Joey play alongside his teammates and volunteer buddies remains a highlight of each summer season.

Professionally, Joe leads the Corporate Development team at Ryan LLC, a global tax consulting firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife, Gaby, also co-manage the JDM Fund for Mitochondrial Research, supporting efforts to advance treatments for mitochondrial disease.

Cristina Rodriguez

Christina serves on the Board of Directors for the Miracle League of Westchester. Her son Alex, 26, who is autistic, has been part of the League for over 15 years, starting with tee-ball and now thriving as an athlete.

Through her board work, Cristina has witnessed how the Miracle League fosters an inclusive community, bringing together families, volunteers, and supporters at events like the Halloween celebration and Holiday Party. She values the lasting connections it creates and the joy it brings to children and families alike, and she is proud to help advance the League’s mission of inclusion and community.
